We represent hospitals, psychiatric facilities, government ministries, agencies and multidisciplinary health professionals. We advise our clients on all aspects of health law and specialize in delivering experienced legal advocacy before trial and appellate courts and provincial and federal tribunals. We teach post-graduate trainees in psychiatry and assist in the training of Crown Attorneys in relation to Part XX.1 of the Criminal Code.

Our advocates have experience representing media groups, corporations, not-for-profit organizations and individuals in defamation matters, including online defamation, as well challenges to publication bans and sealing orders, pre-publication injunctions, and access to information requests. We also provide strategic pre-litigation advice and consult on libel matters for authors, publishers, broadcasters and newspapers.
Marine and Transportation Law
Our marine lawyers represent P & I Clubs, marine insurers, shipowners and freight forwarders in claims involving property loss and personal injury, as well as in coverage disputes and policy interpretation.
Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution
We are experienced advocates and trial lawyers. We are at home on our feet in a courtroom. At the same time, we remain aware of commercial realities and the cost of litigation. We will explore all reasonable means of achieving a timely and cost-effective resolution. Lawyers at the firm have extensive training and experience in alternative dispute resolution.
Mediation Services
We provide mediation services in many types of claims including where mediation is mandatory under the Rules of Civil Procedure. Our mediators have particular experience in the mediation of insurance, health law, marine and professional negligence claims.
Appellate Advocacy
